The mission of the PHYSICIANS of MAUI is to provide the BEST possible healthcare for Maui, our home. To achieve this, the genius of us all must stand together and speak with one voice. This voice, the will of the medical community, is the way to change. To effect change, we must be actively engaged in self-education, community education and the political issues of our times. This day we vow to ourselves and to our fellow Physicians:

1. We will keep our knowledge of medicine up-to-date through personal readings and conferences. We will participate in the education of our fellow physicians by sharing our knowledge. We will initiate and actively participate in the Physicians of Maui Medical Grand Rounds. We will help make these sessions one of the premier medical educational opportunities on Maui.
   
   
2. We will devote time to health education in each community on Maui at regular intervals. By empowering our community with health knowledge we will enlist them as partners who can assist us as we care for them. We will take full advantage of current events in the world and on Maui to speak out on health-related issues.
   
   
3. We will actively engage government, hospital(s) and business leaders when their decisions impact healthcare on Maui. We will give our support in matters that are positive for Maui and the medical community. We will stand in opposition in matters that are harmful to Maui and the medical community.
